Jacks First Birthday

It hardly seems a year since Jack was born, time really has flown by but a year it has been.

So to mark the day we decided that on his actual birthday we would go to the seaside and let him play on the sand for the first time.

The weather has been typically British over the last few weeks, not what you want when going to the beach, but on the day it was warm and sunny and the sky was blue so off we set.
We decided that we would go to Saltburn-by-the-sea as it is only 45 miles from home, not as commercial as the other seaside resorts and it has beautiful beaches.
We arrived in time for Lunch and decided that we would have "fish and chips" in a restaurant, this would be a first for Jack.
The restaurant was really nice, the food was great and Jack was the best little boy in the world , he sat in his highchair and smiled at everyone who came in, he was very cute.
Anyway after the meal we walked to the beach and found a nice spot and let jack play on the sand, he absolutly loved the beach and loved the sand (after he had eaten two handfuls and decided he didn't like the taste!), he was not sure about the sea and wanted to sit in it to figure it out.
We spent lots of time on the beach and then made our way back to the car and cleaned all the sand off Jack then headed for home (just as it started to rain, great timing!).

On the way home we stopped off at my Mothers where the family had gathered and Jack opened his presents, he was truly spoilt, getting lots of things off his cousins, Aunt and Grannie.

He then took a little time out to do one of his favorite thing, to whale on is cousin Elliott.

We got Jack home and started his usual bedtime routine of eat, bath, bottle and off to bed, he was so tired that he fell asleep during his bed time bottle.

It was one of those days that you look back on and it was Perfect.
I will try and upload some of the video I took at Saltburn-by-the-sea in the next couple of weeks (when I can figure out how to do it and how to get the footage off the camcorder!).
Catch ya later :-)
